1. Seminar Success!
God has indeed gone ahead of Team Archippus to Guam and started His awesome work in the hearts of these beautiful people at the AAA Seminar. We were much encouraged by their hunger to receive the Archippus Awakening message by Ps Henson. They kept coming to express appreciation for the timely message and ask for more copies of Say To Archippus and Alignment Check. All the books were sold in no time, so we had to leave some disappointed! The Lord Himself shall bless these awakened hearts, that the message will take root and many be aligned and move on their kingdom assignments towards God’s destiny for Guam! To God be the glory!
2. Song: So Will I
The Guamanians sing beautifully and their worship team chose the song “So Will I” that God used to touch my heart. I used a portion of the lyrics to introduce my sharing on my Archippian journey :
I can see Your heart in everything You say
Every painted sky
A canvas of Your grace
If creation still obeys You
So will I
I shared how God encourages me in my Archippian journey that the joy of obedience outweighs the challenges as I align with God. I had fun in front of a gracious audience!
3. So Shines the Son!
The Lord thrilled me to no end with His ever-changing splashes of exciting colours in the sky at sunset. Every time I see a sunset, my heart wells up in gratitude towards His goodness. I am full of gratitude to be on His assignment with Team Archippus at Life in the Son Christian Fellowship. We had much joyful interaction with one another as well as with the people on Guam. It was a very small part I played but I serve a big God whose zeal accomplished all that had happened in Guam.
“LORD, You establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished You have done for us.” Isaiah 26:12
By Toh Siew Hoon
My Impression of Guam:
Guam is a beautiful place. Streets there are neat and clean, people are friendly and hospitable. I am especially amazed by the beautiful clouds and sunset everyday.
Our Kingdom Assignment in Guam:
On Friday 5 Oct: I felt privileged to be able to partake in the Guam Ministers’ Association monthly luncheon. The message shared by Ps Henson at the luncheon was just right. I felt it was a timely word from God for the ministers to hear and be awakened. I was so glad that complimentary copies of Say To Archippus brought by Ps Mark Benavente were gone in no time. At the AAA Seminar that evening, one of the ministers approached the book table to buy a set of Say To Archippus and Alignment Check. I asked him, “Didn’t you get a free copy of Say To Archippus at the luncheon?” And he replied, “I went up to speak to Ps Henson for a while and when I turned around, the books were gone!”
On Saturday 6 Oct: In the opening worship set, I was so fascinated by the lyrics of the song, “So Will I”:
If the stars were made to worship so will I….
If creation sings Your praises so will I….
As You speak
A hundred billion creatures catch Your breath….
If it all reveals Your nature so will I….
Every painted sky a canvas of Your grace
If creation still obeys You so will I….
If the mountains bow in reverence so will I….
If the oceans roar Your greatness so will I
For if everything exists to lift You high so will I….
I simply poured out my heart to worship our awesome God. Yes Lord, so will I …
I felt that throughout the whole seminar, the anointing of God was upon Ps Henson as he spoke. Every session was impactful and every word spoken was powerful. Lay Leng’s sharing was very anointed too. As for me, I was quite nervous during my sharing. The night before, I was trying to put in place what I had in my mind to share but very quickly succumbed to sleepiness. In the morning, I had no time to think anymore but could only ask the Lord to help me. I was very encouraged when a few sisters came to thank me for my sharing.
During the session “Finish the Race”, the slide of horses waiting to be unleashed at the race caught my eye. It was not the first time I had seen this slide but it jumped out at me this time. It reminded me of a vision I had when Ps Henson, Lay Leng and I prayed together before the trip: a vision of athletes getting ready at their starting lines waiting for the gun to be sounded. It seemed to be an affirmation from the Lord that Archippuses in Guam would be awakened, aligned and assigned for the purposes of God.
The Lord indeed had prepared hearts to receive the awakening message. I was very encouraged to see the response of the people at the altar, and many kept coming to buy the books (which sold out very quickly). May both books, Say To Archippus and Alignment Check, help them go deeper and be aligned and assigned on their kingdom assignments.
On Sunday 7 Oct: I felt the presence of the Lord once I stepped into the sanctuary of Life in the Son Christian Fellowship that morning. When worship started, His presence became stronger. I sensed the love and presence of God was like a canvas above everyone. When the song “Nothing is Impossible” was sung, I could not help but jump for joy (I have never jumped in worship but was prompted by the Holy Spirit to jump this time). I sensed the Lord was saying, “Now celebrate with joy. For I am doing a mighty work in the hearts of my people here.”
What the Lord is teaching me:
1) Do not doubt visions or impressions I receive (sometimes I am not sure of what I see and hear, I will ask if it is of the Lord or myself). Just pray what I see and hear from the Holy Spirit. The Lord is faithful to see His desires come to pass. 2) What it means to worship Him in awe.
To the glory of God, and by His grace, Team Archippus just returned from declaring the message of Archippus Awakening in Guam, USA. Yes, you read it right … Guam, USA.
Last July, Pastors Mark and Terry Benevente were in Singapore, ministering at my home church (Full Gospel Assembly) in their capacity as directors of Elijah House Guam. That weekend, I was the rostered speaker at FGA, sharing the one and only message upon my heart – Archippus Awakening. After the service, Ps Mark approached me and said, “Our church needs this message. Can we fly you over to Guam to declare it?” We set up a lunch to chat more. Looking through our ministry schedules, September or October 2018 were possible options. Across the next months and a few email exchanges, the dates were finally set as 3-8 October 2018.
2018 has been an exciting year for Archippus Awakening. As I shared at our 4th Anniversary Dinner on 3 August 2018, “Recognising the prophetic significance of 2018, in anticipation of what God is going to do in and through Singapore, in the region and around the world, Archippus Awakening is prepared for the increase that is to come (whatever that means, in whatever form) as we cross from the 4th year into the 5th year.” Although we didn’t know what the Lord has in store, there were already two items on the calendar that we could look forward to: 1) Book Commissioning of Alignment Check in September; and 2) AAA Seminar in Guam USA in October.
I was all prepared to travel alone this time, but the Lord had other plans. He opened the way for Siew Hoon and Lay Leng; and then my children, David and Ruth. A while later, I learned that my parents had rearranged their travel plans to join us in Guam (one day later). Just like that, Team Archippus was assembled and formed!
Our journey started from Terminal 1 of Changi International Airport at 1:30pm, Wednesday 3 October. We flew to Manila, laid over for almost 4 hours, and then to Guam, arriving at 4:30am the next day. Pastor Mark was such a welcome sight as we stepped out after clearing immigration and customs. Thankfully, the hotel was just 10mins away and we were all very happy to quickly check-in and get some sleep before meeting Ps Mark for lunch.
After a lovely Mexican lunch, we did a little sightseeing. Driving around, it felt more like a holiday than a ministry trip. Ps Mark brought us atop Mount Santa Rosa, the highest peak, where we prayed over Guam. We stopped by Ps Mark’s home for a while before heading out to Two Lovers Point. Although drizzling when we got there, the skies cleared up in time for beautiful sunset shots, followed by dinner with Ps Mark and Ps Terry.
Our first stop on Friday morning was Life in the Son Christian Fellowship, the host church and venue for the AAA Seminar. After settling projection details and setting up the book table, we spent some time praying for the seminar.
We then headed off to SureStay Hotel for the Guam Ministers’ Association lunch fellowship, where I was privileged to share a short devotional with the gathering of pastors and ministers, exhorting all never to settle for mediocrity in our service to the Lord and His people.
The AAA Seminar kicked off to a good start on Friday night with the introductory session, “Another Awakening: Who is Archippus?”
The next day, the remaining four sessions were delivered, “Staying Awake: Ready & Prepared“, “What’s in a Name?: Enough Horsing Around“, “Alignment Check: AA to AO” and “Finish the Race: Go for Gold“.
Siew Hoon and Lay Leng took turns to share their own Archippian journeys. David played with the worship team. Ruth managed the presentation from the AV booth. Dad took photos, and Mom was quietly supportive.
The response to the message of Archippus Awakening was very positive. Lay Leng reflects, “God has indeed gone ahead of Team Archippus to Guam and started His awesome work in the hearts of these beautiful people at the AAA Seminar. We were much encouraged by their hunger to receive the Archippus Awakening message by Ps Henson.” Siew Hoon shares the same sentiments, “The Lord indeed had prepared hearts to receive the awakening message. I was very encouraged to see the response of the people at the altar, and many kept coming to buy the books (which sold out very quickly).“
The Lord was not only present with us at the AAA Seminar but also at Sunday’s service. Siew Hoon writes, “I felt the presence of the Lord once I stepped into the sanctuary that morning. When worship started, His presence became stronger. I sensed that the love and presence of God was like a canvas above everyone.”
After bringing the message “The Walk of the Wise“, an invitation was made for salvation and eight persons responded to believe in Jesus. What joy and excitement as we stood and prayed alongside these new brothers and sisters in Christ!
Our Guam ministry trip drew to a close on Sunday night with a simple celebration meal with Ps Mark and Ps Terry. We give thanks to the Lord for their gracious invitation to Guam and their warm hospitality in Guam. Our prayers continue to be with them as they lead and guide awakened Archippuses towards kingdom assignments in Guam. God willing, we will have another opportunity to co-labour again in the near future.
On Monday 8 October, 4:30am, we left Sante Fe Hotel, making our way to the airport for our flight to Singapore via Manila. Thank God for journey mercies, we arrived at 1:30pm, 10mins ahead of schedule.
To God be all praise, honour and glory! #iamarchippus #aaaguam
Coming to AWE2018 at Changi Cove has been an awesome experience.
My wife and I came with an expectation to receive words of guidance in our journey and our assignment from God. There were many issues in our hearts that have distracted us as we pursued our kingdom assignment.
At AWE 2018, God ministered to us in a special way. We understood the importance of being in ALIGNMENT with God. Ps Henson emphasised this: “Focus on the aligning. Let God do the assigning.”
Now it has become clearer to us that as we desire to fulfil our God-given assignment, we need to regularly check our alignment with the Lord, His Word and the Holy Spirit. The teaching, prophetic words, prayers and fellowship were packed with messages and insights that I am carrying now to bring awakening in my city and region in the Philippines to fulfil her prophetic destiny and assignment.
Thank you Ps Henson and Team Archippus for hosting a life-transforming AWE2018.
Ps Rey & Cecile Sanico
Pastor Rey Sanico, New Life Fellowship, Butuan, Philippines
AWE2018 @ Changi Cove Singapore was my first awakening event. I love to see Jesus exalted and His Kingdom expand. My passion is in teaching and leading God’s people. I train pastors, and I equip and mobilise the body of Christ to be actively involved in the Great Commission.
My family and I had recently relocated back from Bhutan where I served as the Leadership Resource Person in the King’s Office to advise on leadership development in the kingdom.
Archippus Awakening or Pastor Henson Lim were unknown to me until 25 March 2018. I had googled “awakening” and come across his blog. That same day, I immediately signed my wife, Poh Cheng, and myself up for AWE 2018. Realising that there was a book Say To Archippus by Pastor Henson, I emailed him to get a copy.
On the first day of AWE 2018, a total stranger struck up a conversation with me and then offered to pray for me. However, he did not get to pray until the second day. I woke up early for Kingdom Prayer Initiative, and in the evening, my wife and I again bumped into the stranger. Sunny (Thank you brother!) remembered me, and as he prayed, I caught a main point that stuck with me: “Not to be afraid of the release that is to come.”
During the altar call that evening, I was prompted by Olivia to go up to Pastor Henson to be prayed for. I had been happily soaking in the corporate worship, something I truly missed while working in Bhutan. Pastor Henson prayed over me and three things stood out for me from what he prayed: ‘Mouth Piece’, ‘Puts things right’, ‘Share what it means to serve the king’.
What is my assignment? I don’t know yet. I wish I had known about Archippus Awakening much earlier. Just like the ‘ark’ we built in the alignment activity, I am not only a broken vessel running on faulty wheels, I am also the meddlesome pilot not willing to let go of the wheel and allow the Spirit of God to move me as He wishes. Hence I know from AWE 2018 I need to work on my own aligning and allow God to do the assigning. About my own alignment process, there is much refinement and empowerment to be done still. There is much dying to self and much equipping to ensure that I am the right horse for the course (or in Archippus speak, the right stallion for the right stadion).
From today onwards, I put down in my daily task this: “Review and Do my Alignment Check”. What that entails, it will probably differ from day to day, season by season. But it will be a daily tithe of time to be quiet before God, to know the mind and will of the King of kings. I had blogged about the limited time we have on earth. Hence, in my computer, I already have a countdown clock that marks the time I have left till I am 70. Today, I add one more countdown timer marking the day I completed AWE 2018. As it stands now, this second timer reads 15 hours, 42 minutes. The time is ticking towards the final arc. It is time to get up.
Adrian Chan, International Baptist Church
I have been prompted to reflect on “awakening” for a while before I decided to google for more information. Lo and behold, I found Pastor Henson’s blog and AWE 2018! I signed up immediately! My family and I recently relocated back from Bhutan, where I spent the last three years serving in the King’s office as the Leadership Resource Person. In serving an earthly king, this experience allowed me to witness the parallels in our service with our King of kings. Now that I have a language and framework to describe my assignment experience in Bhutan, I am looking forward to living out a new awakening, aligning and assigning back here in Singapore.
In April 2018, the Archippus Awakening message was shared with the women of Bedok Methodist Church at their WSCS Retreat in Malacca. When they learnt about an upcoming Awakening Event over the weekend of 3-5 August where the Alignment Check would be taught in greater detail, they promptly registered for AWE2018.
With eleven of them present at AWE2018 (ten sisters and a brother), they were the largest representation from a single local church that Archippus Awakening has ever hosted at an Awakening Event.
We are so encouraged that these Archippuses are now eager to share with even more Archippuses when they return to their home church. Read their testimonies and takeaways below and give God all praise and glory:
“Dear Ps Henson & Team
Thank you for the awesome AWE2018 weekend. The definition of discipleship you have shared is now crystallised in our minds, and truly that is exactly the life Jesus lived: embracing difficulties, suffering and death, denying self and obeying the Father. Jesus completed His task well to receive His reward, sitting at the right hand of the throne of God. Indeed, the teachings included a major reorientation of some preconceived and prescribed ideas of what discipleship is. From playing church and programmes to doing kingdom work for the King. From consuming feel-good Christian preaching to embracing every hard truth in God’s Word. From simply sailing through life to truly running the race that we may receive the reward. Your message from God has indeed challenged us to do as we are assigned, according to His perfect will, with His ongoing empowerment and grace. Thank you once again for being the voice of Jesus, and sharing with us the tools to equip us for our kingdom assignments which is so beautifully summed up in the tagline: focus on the aligning, let God do the assigning.” – Sally Cheong & Evette Tan
“I am now AWAKENED, ALIGNED & ASSIGNED, and totally in AWE of Jesus for anointing Pastor Henson to deliver HIS 1-2-3-4 message! The endtime is near. Let’s wake up other Archippuses and get more people into HIS KINGDOM!” – Mollee Tng
“As an Archippus, I am a disciple of Christ. I am to know the Person of Christ and not just know about Christ. As an Archippus, I embrace the difficulties and challenges in the refinement process. This is discipleship. The alignment activity helped me realise that to run a good race, I must be aligned and re-aligned in order to finish the race and finish it well. I am deeply inspired to apply what I have learned at AWE2018 and I also hope to share the message of Archippus Awakening to awaken as many saints around me as possible. A big Thank You to Ps Henson and the working committee of AWE2018″ – Annie Yeo
“Dear Pastor Henson & Team
Thank you for a wonderful AWE2018 weekend at Changi Cove with like-minded Archippuses. The first time I heard Pastor Henson at a 3-day-2-night retreat, the Archippus Awakening message left me thinking and reflecting on my position in Christ. At AWE 2018, I received much assurance from God as I am about to embark on another assignment. I had said yes to this assignment with fear and reluctance and even regretting it, so it was good to know that Noah had to go through the refinement process (possibly ridicule by others, questioning by loved ones) while obeying God to build the ark, becoming the lineage for Jesus who endured the cross to the end so the whole mankind is saved. AWE 2018 was so well run – not just God’s message delivered by Pastor Henson but almost every segment, be it the 1-2-3-4 quiz on Friday or the alignment activity on Saturday, all served to highlight and bring out the essence of the ONE message so effectively and powerfully to us. My prayer is that as we are being launched into the world following the Adullam assembly at AWE2018 weekend, we will all be found faithful in being the Archippus in our area of influence.” – Chia Koon Hong
“I am an ‘underwhelmed’ soul in need of an awakening in an overwhelmed schedule. AWE 2018 was a timely wake-up call to review my busyness. I do not want to do so many things and miss out on God ‘s assignments. With a renewed kingdom mindset, I am excited to embark on the journey of discovering what God has in store for me. I am Archippus, looking to doing HIs assignments from a posture of rest and not feeling daunted by the pain that may come with the aligning.” – Neo Lay Tin
“I have never realised how misaligned I was and at AWE 2018, I discovered where my position is. Thank you Ps Henson and Team Archippus. I am now eating and sleeping these three words: awakened, aligned, assigned. There is much to internalise and digest, but I have learnt to do it with regards to God’s kingdom.” – Jovi Low
“With the Archippus Awakeningmessage delivered to me, I recognise that there is much work needed to address my misalignment at where He has assigned me. I received my ‘fellow soldier’ appointment in awe and gratefulness. Thank you Ps Henson and team for all your faithfulness and obedienceto Him in this journey to help us unpack the ‘Build the Arc’ message, and more importantly, to understand His Kingship. I see the sacrifices behind you and the team in order to assemble me back into the Archippus battalion. With much tears and great joy. I am encouraged by all of you.” – Mark Teo, an Archippus falling in.
“Fear and doubt engulf me as I am about to move into a new AO. Drawing from Ps Henson’s sharing at AWE2018, I learned a lesson from Noah, who aligned with God and responded with obedience when he was asked to build an ark. As he responded with obedience, he received God’s empowerment. The alignment activity was an awakening experience. I could never imagine myself crawling on the floor on my stomach and blowing the ‘ark’ across the finishing line. Going forward, there will be challenges, but as long as I stay focussed and move within the lane God assigned to me and with His empowermen,t I will run and win the race. I am thankful I have a community of Archippuses to cheer me on when the going gets tough. It is my desire to awaken other sleeping Archippuses so they will be AWAKENED, ALIGNED and ASSIGNED. Thank you Pastor Henson and team for an AWE-some2018.” – Irene Tung
After sharing a series of awakening messages at All Saints Presbyterian Church (ASPC) in 2017, I was invited to be the speaker for their 2018 camp. Together with the leadership, we decided on the theme: ALIGNMENT.
When I shared this ministry engagement with Archippus Awakening’s prayer team, the Lord prompted Christopher and Priscilla Krishnasamy to join me at this camp. Their assignment was extremely precise: to pray for me and ASPC.
Leading up to the camp, we met with the leaders to discuss and better understand the needs of ASPC. This helped me prepare for the sessions and provided us better focus as we prayed for this assignment.
At the camp, we were encouraged to connect with more Archippuses from ASPC (Jelin, Lindsay, Jennifer & May). The Lord sent reinforcement!
Over three days (8-10 June) at Forest City Phoenix Hotel, I introduced the Alignment Check to ASPC, sharing the aspects of Alignment, Refinement, Empowerment and Assignment, and challenging all to focus on the aligning and allow God to do the assigning.
We give God all praise and glory for the positive response to the message, both individually and corporately! I count it a privilege to be able to speak into the life of a local church, to feature in a small part of what the Lord will do in and through them.
Here are some key takeaways from ASPC members:
“I thank Ps Henson for helping me to see that God is bringing me through a Refinement process and that He is in control. I am personally in a challenging period of transition and while I am out of my comfort zone I take these words to heart, ‘Focus on the Aligning and God will do the Assigning’. Trying to understand the will of God for my life, I am often led to do things that I am not comfortable with and is not my strength but Ps Henson reminds us that God can show His glory through our weaknesses as He empowers us through His Spirit. There was a time when I was going through a dry season in church when the scriptures seemed to be merely words but I thank God that I found a community of ‘kingdom subjects’ in church, outside church and in business that manifested the Word with power, love and hope in daily living. And it is through this Refinement process that I am challenged to bring comfort to the Christians I meet who are themselves discouraged due to unanswered prayer and struggles in their lives. It is only by Aligning and staying close to God as we continue to believe in His promises in the Word that we can survive in this world of challenges and negativity.” Jelin Tan
“I learnt that it is through the process as we Repent and are Restored and Refined for God’s Kingdom purposes that we are empowered by God’s Spirit like how a parched ground is empowered by springs to give new growth and life. I believe that the dryness of God’s prophetic word will give way to springs of living water as we actively seek to Align to God individually and corporately. Instead of dryness, there will be an abundance of water to nourish new growth. “And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.” Isaiah 35:7 KJV A word of Hope for our church. Let us learn to pray the Kingdom and be hungry enough to fast forward His purposes!” David Saw
“‘Focus on the Aligning, Let God do the Assigning!’ That put a name to the problem I had been facing! I didn’t realise that I had fallen into the common trap of feeling a false sense of fulfilment from being busy for God, doing many Christian activities, yet still feeling a sense of spiritual dryness inside. The crucial step I had bypassed was the Alignment. Now I’m increasingly aware of spending more time seeking God first and waiting for His leading before I fill my hands with good things to do.” Choo Li Min
“I thank God for Ps Henson being an Archippus carrying out his Kingdom assignment in the Church. As he constantly mentions, he is not teaching anything new, it’s all there in the Bible! But as he arranges the ideas and paints the picture, it becomes clearer what this calling to follow Christ entails for us, as individual children of God and as a community of faith. Through his teaching I became more aware of the tension of being ‘Almost Anonymous but known by name’ that resided within me. In a generation fuelled by social media and social insecurity, it is truly outstanding for Christians to be at once boldly confident in our identity in Christ as well as humbly secure to carry out our assignments without the need to draw attention to ourselves. It is something I grapple with as a leader in the local church but I believe that now that I am Awakened to this, as I focus on Aligning to Christ He will Refine and Empower me through His Spirit that I may carry out my Assignment with Influence for Him.” Shawn Eng
TEAM ARCHIPPUS travelled to Philippines to declare the message of Archippus Awakening in Kidapawan City through the “Awakened Aligned Assigned” Seminar (3 & 4 May 2018), in partnership with Kidapawan City Assembly of God Church. We give God all glory for His enablement and all He has done in the lives of our Pinoy brothers and sisters!
“As a pastor, Archippus Awakening helped me a lot in terms of giving me a sense of direction with regards to equipping God’s armies in our local church. When a fresh revival came last year, I knew in my heart God wants to accomplish something through His people for our city and perhaps for the entire province. And I know it won’t be possible without the people aligning to the person of God. Thus, intimacy before ministry was what stands out to me all through the time of the conference. All glory be unto God!” Senior Pastor Joel Acaso
“I am truly awakened. And now I see the real value of my salvation. And it’s not all about getting to heaven. I am saved for HIS purpose while waiting for HIS second coming.” Beth Riola
“Archippus Awakening really awakened me in many aspects of my relationship with God. I really thought that I was already a “Good Christian” because I was always in church, attending services, being in the Worship Team, doing little chores, etc. I thought I was there. I thought God was already pleased with me. But ever since this event, I was awakened about how much I lack as a true follower of Christ. A lot has changed within the way I think and see things. I now see a glimpse of what God is doing in order to shape me into what He wants me to be. There are lots of things I want to say. I pray that the Archippus Awakening movement would awaken more souls like me who hungers to be aligned with God more.” Jasper Teope
“To respond to God’s call is hard, but discerning where God wants you to be seems harder. This is a common struggle in Christians, especially when one decides to respond to the call of the ministry. When we speak of the ministry we usually limit it to children’s ministry, music ministry, evangelism, etc. Our minds are so confined in the four corners of the church when in fact, God has called us, Christians to a much bigger mission field, which is the Kingdom and not just the church. We need the church though, for this is our Assembly Area where we are awakened, aligned, refined, empowered and assigned. After going through these processes, we are then sent out to our respective assignments for we are not meant to just keep on receiving but designed to feed and be a channel of God’s goodness. We are called to do the work of the kingdom which is to preach the gospel to all nations and that includes our workplaces, families, friends and schools – if we are studying.” Vonkluck Herrera
“Awakened! Aligned! Assigned! I’m so blessed and thankful that I was able to join the Archippus Awakening seminar. I thought my Christian life before was ok but then I was wrong. I learned how to step out of my comfort zone. The good news of the kingdom is not just about the salvation, so live your life with the right purpose. That intimacy and a quiet time with the Lord is a must. Intimacy before ministry! As Pastor Henson said, ‘Focus on the aligning and let God do the assigning.’ Consider that you are not your own but His . Finish the race, Juls! And go for gold. This seminar has really made a big impact to my Christian journey.” Juliana Mei Kian
More than just going to Kidapawan City to serve and give, Team Archippus also learnt and received much. Be encouraged by their reflections as they moved on kingdom assignment for Jesus.
“Every time I go to the Philippines and subsequently go home, I find myself wanting to go back, and this time was no different. I went on this trip wondering what I was going there for, and came back having had the most enjoyable weekend of my year so far. I’ve only known these people for three days, but it feels like I’ve known them my whole life. Singapore has so much to learn from the Philippines. And I have so much to learn from them as well.”
“Knowing my Dad would be in need of a photographer for this trip to the Philippines, I decided to help out. When I arrived at the Philippines, I already had the assumption that this was going to be like any regular trip. It turns out that I was wrong. Unlike any other trip, I had the opportunity to interact with the Filipino youth in the church, and as we talked and played games, I was really blessed by them. And when I watched the whole church worship, I could see they were doing it with all their heart. I have really been blessed by them and I do not regret coming at all!”

“Purihin Ang Panginoon! (Praise the Lord!)
Before the trip I was just thinking to help out logistically so that I know better how to help in future, hopefully in Japan! Of course in our meetups Ps Henson did mention we were to be ready to help in ministry. I was kind of not sure what to expect but guess should be alright. I was thrilled that this trip went beyond purposeful.
The Filipinos are so hungry & thirsty for the Lord. They received the AA message excitedly. Little did I know I would have an assignment to share His Word. I accepted it by faith not knowing what was it like in Philippines. It was hearthening to see the congregation not yawning but paying every attention to what I said. I also realised this during Ps Henson’s teaching during group discussion that many were clear in articulating their reflections and thoughts. I also didn’t know it could be such a refreshing experience for me to declare God’s words. I absorb God’s words alot but nothing like speaking out & declaring it. I felt the words were drilled much deeper in my inner self as well.
During the altar call, our Singapore team was expected to minister to those who responded. I was apprehensive as sometimes I felt inadequate while I am still undergoing healing myself. But then again, I believe it’s His grace extended to me to minister and just focus on Him. It gets better each time as I lay aside my weight and wait upon the Holy Spirit to lead me to pray over the sister or brother. I am grateful for this opportunity & experience. Many were ministered and I pray the Lord will continue to do His work in the Archippuses in Kidapawan. I was also very encouraged to see the youth fasting and in prayer.
Such wonderful examples especially when my church is also exhorting believers to go into time of prayer and fasting with more intensity this year. The Lord has prepared my heart indeed! I believe more wonderful and awesome things come out of Kidapawan to the rest of Philipines & globally as the church is in the right posture waiting for the Lord. The Lord will bring it to pass. It’s our team’s privilege to serve the AA message to the Filipinos and gathering them to alignment to do kingdom assignments for such a time like this.”
“When I first heard about Archippus Awakening going to Kidawapan City for a two-day AA seminar coupled with an outreach opportunity during this trip, I sought the Lord whether He wanted me to be part of it. The thought of going for this trip has remained in my heart for quite some time and I finally decided to obey God and make this my first mission trip.
All this while as a Christian, I have been asked to go for various mission trips but somehow I know deep within my heart I always want to be part of a ministry where I can share the same heartbeat with and be part of God’s work to edify and build up the Body of Christ through sharing of His Words and personal testimonies.
Looking back at my first mission trip, I know God has exceedingly and abundantly answered my prayer. Firstly, I am very blessed to travel with a group of Archippuses who are warhorses that are ever ready to carry out whatever assignments we have been asked to do. There was such unity and love amongst us – from the preparation to the final stage of this trip.
Secondly, I am very thankful for the opportunity to share my journey of how I came out of the ‘hypergrace’ teaching as this is something very close to my heart. This also allows me to share God’s faithfulness in my life. (Truly thankful that Chief Archippus, Rev Henson, made a ‘last minute’ decision to ask me to share at the appropriate session when he was teaching on ‘Grace’. I had told God before the trip I wanted to share at this particular session on ‘Grace’. Indeed I marvel at how God has arranged everything for me!! ).
Thirdly, I am deeply amazed and encouraged by the Filipinos’ deep hunger for God and their readiness to embrace the Archippus Awakening message and how they immediately applied the teachings to their lives and ministries at Kidawapan City AG Church. This was evidenced in all their sharing sessions when they shared passionately about the AA message and the massive response at the end of each day’s ministry session. The same scene (the massive response to the AA message) was repeated at House of Praise AOG when Sis Kwee Lee, Bro Steven and myself were assigned to go there on Sunday morning. Never in my life have I prayed for so many Christians at a particular Sunday service.
Last but not least, I am touched by the hospitality, appreciation and simplicity shown by the Filipino Archippuses and brethren during the entire trip. They were always ready to give their best in their worship and service to our King, in taking care of our needs as visitors in their land and being the best Archippuses they know how. They have taught me to do likewise for the foreigners in my own land.
I look forward to more mission trips with fellow Archippuses as and when the Lord prompts me to do so as I know many more need to be awakened, aligned and assigned in God’s kingdom.”
