Many Christians Carelessly Presume This

Are you ready for Jesus’ return?

No, this is not a casual or rhetorical question. It’s a very serious and important one.

Being in church for many years can cause one to presume a lot of things. One of which, our readiness for the return of Jesus.

This is not surprising at all. After all, were we not all told that once we said the sinner’s prayer (or equivalent), we will automatically get to heaven? Add to that, baptism and church membership, and that should have truly sealed the deal, yes?

For a long time, this was what I thought too. Until I started reading and studying Scriptures for myself.

I found that Jesus taught much about being prepared and ready for His second coming. And it involved me doing my part to be ready. I know this statement may not sit well with some. I can only urge the reading of Scriptures again and let the Holy Spirit speak and convict.

More recently, at a personal retreat, I was even more convinced when I read Revelation 19:7. Speaking of the marriage of the Lamb, it says that “His bride has made herself ready.” His bride, the ekklesia, is expected to make herself ready for the coming of the Bridegroom. It cannot get any clearer than that. How did we miss this?

There is such an urgency for many to be made aware of the need to be made ready for the Lord. However, there is also much distraction and complacency. Dare I say, deception, too. Many in the Body of Christ are simply not ready, or presume that they are ready just because they attend church. Or subscribe to end-time ‘prophetic’ updates.

This explains the theme of MAKE READY for this year’s AWE2025 – an initiative of Archippus Awakening to gather those with the common desire to be awakened, aligned and assigned for Jesus and His kingdom.

If you are reading this, and the Spirit is tugging at your heart, I make a strong appeal for you to prayerfully consider joining us at AWE2025, 18-20 October, Harris Hotel Batam Centre. At this 3D2N event, I will address the eschatological backdrop, what the end-time signs are for and how we are to respond. Then share FIVE critical considerations on how to make R.E.A.D.Y.:

RETURN to the King
ENGAGE in His business
ALIGN with the kingdom
DISCERN the times
YEARN for the Bridegroom

I believe it will be a public holiday weekend well spent in the presence of the Lord and in the company of like-minded kingdom saints. 20-35 year-olds enjoy a special young adults 2-for-1 promo (terms apply). Closing date to register at normal rates is 31 August. After that, late fees apply. Don’t wait too long. Register now. Enquiries: events@archippusawakening.org

Don’t be careless. In Christ, we have confidence and assurance. But never presumption.

In the spirit of the forerunner, “to make ready a people prepared for the Lord”, together with Team Archippus, I look forward to seeing and serving you at AWE2025.
