It’s December – that time of year to look back as we prepare to move forward.
This year, Archippus Awakening celebrated 9th Anniversary on 3 August and entered into our 10th year [watch 9th Anniversary video]. I’m still trying to get used to the fact that it has been TEN YEARS since receiving the AA message through Colossians 4:17 in October 2013. [Sorry if I’m confusing you with numbers and years. I realise not everyone will understand or appreciate the significance of these moments as much as I. Better to just share how the Lord has led us through this year.]
So how did the year go? Here goes …
2023 saw us launching STAP – Say To Archippus Processing – a new initiative to help more personalise the AA message and understand the awakening context more deeply. Two STAP groups were piloted across January & February. Response was very positive and that spurred us to offer more STAPs throughout the year. To support this effort, we conducted STAP Facilitators’ Training in February and August. In total, we took nine groups through STAP in Singapore (2 in Jan/Feb; 3 in July/Aug; 2 in Sep/Oct; 2 in Oct/Nov). STAP was also conducted in Hong Kong, Philippines, UAE, Uganda, Michigan and Taiwan by AAKO Partners.
The AA message continued to be declared across the various platforms. As always, I am very thankful for the partnership of Tung Ling Bible School, giving me the opportunity to teach “Knowing & Fulfilling Kingdom Assignments” at School of Ministry Term 1 & Term 2. Over the years, I have made many new kingdom friends, some of whom have become kingdom partners too.
AWE2023 was one of the highlights of the year. After three years online, this would be the first time we would gather onsite. With much excitement and buzz, 140 Archippuses from different churches and nations assembled at AWE2023:PIVOT. We were so thankful that some of our AAKO (Archippus Awakening Kingdom Outpost) partners made special effort to be present too.
In June, church camp season saw me sharing “Awakened Aligned Assigned” with Sengkang Methodist Church in JB (bilingual, thanks to translator Wai Yee) and River of Life Church in Malacca. Back in Singapore, the door opened to Pentecost Methodist Church for the AAA Seminar to be conducted twice (June & August). In December, I just returned from declaring AA to the young ones at Kingdom Life Community Church’s Youth Camp.
With borders fully open, Team Archippus flew to Dubai in April. In partnership with AAKO UAE and God’s Way Fellowship, the AA message was declared in UAE (Dubai & Sharjah). Serene and I were in Manila to share at Entrepreneurs Organisation’s APAC Faith Community Retreat in July. In August, at the invitation of Pastor Sara Sapan, I was in Batam for one day to teach three AA sessions to students of Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Ingil Bhakti Caraka.
And finally in November, Team Archippus went all the way to Nepalgunj (Banke, Nepal). Together with AAKO Nepal, the Nepali version of Say To Archippus was commissioned, and the AA message declared at AAA Nepal Conference.
MAP (Mentoring Aligning Process) had the sixth cohort (MAP6.0) commencing (graduating) on 25 March. The Chinese MAP, involving mentors and participants from Singapore, Malaysia & Hongkong, commemorated their Commencement on 27 August. MAP7.0 started on 2 September. We are very glad to have resumed meeting onsite after three zoom/hybrid runs. For overseas MAPpers, they continue to zoom in for their weekly sessions.
Our kingdom foundation series KINGDOM101 premiered another 11 teachings, taking us to the end of Matthew 24. This monthly labour of love is not easy by any means, especially given increasing engagements and extensions of Archippus Awakening. I am ever thankful for the encouraging attendance, participation and feedback along the way.
Another highlight would be Team Archippus’ Retreat. Our focus has always been to serve the body of Christ. So the first thing we did after entering the 10th year was get away for a team retreat over the weekend of 27-29 October at Changi Cove. The key objective was to rest and reconnect and that was precisely what we did. Leslie Choudhury led us excellently through a day of team building, challenging and engaging all deeply yet with much fun and laughter. Seeing the smiles and the bonds being strengthened across the team warmed my heart greatly. Thank you Lord for such a wonderful team of fellow soldiers!
2023 has been another eventful year for Archippus Awakening. That said, in the spirit of what AA is all about, my prayer is that these will not merely remain as activities but that each effort will yield the fruit of many being awakened, aligned and assigned for Jesus and His kingdom.
Back when Archippus Awakening was birthed on 3 August 2014, 10 years seemed so far away. God willing, in another eight months, on 3 August 2024, we will celebrate 10th Anniversary. That said, it is still eight months away. Crossing into 2024, we already have our work cut out for us. We will move forward as we have always done – One day at a time. Entirely by the Lord’s grace and with His enablement.
